1. Clean and fire the greenware of the Sacred Heart of Christ in usual manner, adding any detail distorted during the cleaning process. Fire the greenware to cone 05-06.
2. Apply two coats of Camel opaque stain to the face, hands and feet as smoothly as possible. The hands, face and feet were antiqued with Walnut translucent stain, working on a small area at a time , wiping off excess color with a soft, lint-free cloth
3. Dry brush Butterscotch to the hands, face, and feet. Blush these areas, including the lips, with Melon and soften the color with Ginger. Lightly dry brush Dusty Jade above the eye lid for a shadow.
4. Apply two coats of Baby Blue to the inner robe and highlight with White. The outer robe and heart area mixture of equal parts Jet Black and Really Red. Dry brush the outer robe and heart with Really Red to highlight. Christ's hair and the base are a mixture of equal parts of Bitter-sweet and Cordovan, dry brushed with Indian Flesh then Russet to highlight.
5. Wedgewood was thinned with water, about 50% color to 50% water, and applied to the inner sleeve, middle of the belt and the middle band on the collar.
6. The eyes are painted solid with Dresden Flesh and the irises are Indian Flesh. Add Jet Black pupils with Dresden Flesh highlights. The eyebrows are painted with the same mixture as the hair.
7. Accent the belt, inner robe, outer robe and the heart with Gold Metallic Pearl.
8. Apply two coats of Matte sealer to the entire piece and one coat of high,
